Article Battlefield 3 NIGHT MODE

    Imagine Battlefield 3, being so much more awesome, in night mode. Eerie night lights, never knowing what might be creeping around the corner. THIS mode would make tactical flashlights and IR scopes so much more useful. If its too dark, TURN ON YOUR FLASHLIGHT. Can't see ahead of you, USE YOUR INFRARED SCOPE. And if DICE added night vision goggles, this would make the game, literally, a WHOLE NEW experience. Another feature might be 'time', demonstrated by starting a game of 'Operation Metro' on Rush, after arming the first M-COMS, it might be still daylight, but when you move into the train station, then come back out, it might be already night. These modes would make the game so much more realistic and fun to play, I would love it if any DICE users on this site would read this and consider adding it to the game.

    I've actually been hoping for this since the game's lighting mechanic was announced. My biggest fear is that they'll pull an OP-Metro on us and only allow certain lights to be shot out. It would be awesome if you could actually shoot out lights and be in complete darkness with your only light source being your flashlight. This also wouldn't be over-powered for the defenders because you would have just as much chance to sneak up as they'd have at seeing you also turning on their flashlights to look for you would give away their position.

    This would be sweet. But it should be a bit darker and having some busted lights making some areas very dark. and you would require a flashlight to see in those places.

    However I'm sure the IRNV scopes would be over used, I hate those scopes. Remove the IR function and make it only NV (night vision) Would be better :p

    night mode maps is awesome.. I remember playing on a DUST 24/7 server and the maps changed from day time to night time as the day past... was pretty epic

    Dynamic time of day would be epic.... even just the option to play on night time servers would be soo cool and give the game more replayaility

    im ok with this ...but why not other maps ...fire storm at night will be stunning and will force players to use night vision and thermal optics !

    Yeah, really good mod. But I would another DLC with 4 new maps all in night light.. And maybe the possibility to change the light (from day to n:cool: on the old maps. But I prefer my first choice, 4 new maps all in night light :)
    However this mod is awesome :) And before DiCe news we can use this Mod to play on night ;)

    I think that with the next expansion pack and the ones following DICE will release new maps and some of those will be night time maps, I think that DICE won't want to make every map available to be turned to night time and instead have a handful of night maps build to work well with the darkness because getting the lighting right on these is essential and can't just be simply implemented into a map designed for daytime.

    Although I think it unlikely that DICE will use this idea I say YES to the mod just in case they do, Sounds cool.

    What would be sexy is if the daylight could be synced with the maps location. So if it's night time in Paris or the middle east the map is played as such. I do realize that DICE can't making squading up work, so they might have to outsource that job.
