Playstation 3 VOIP fix on Feb 6th

    A few weeks back, DICE announced they were aware of a problem with the Playstation 3 VOIP in-game system. As promised, a fix is coming on Monday, February 6th. The patch is mandatory, and only requires 20MB of space.

    However, there still may be an issue with one particular headset, but can be fixed with a few simple steps:

    That's true, nothing for PC (yet), but at least you have programs you can use to VOIP and a keyboard to chat with. PS3 was totally screwed.

    The Patch works like a dream.

    perfect comms for all, makes playing the game what it should have been from the start now. Really glad Dice got this sorted out.

    I guess all the talk of hardware being the issue was scaremongering by anti PS3 rebels

    Had a great evening on this yesterday. The comms worked perfectly all night and the difference it makes to this game is staggering.

    I'm a new convert to the Battlefield franchise with BF3 so the comms issues wasn't a huge issue to me; learning maps, figuring out buttons and finding weapons to suit me was priority. Now that I'm familiar with the game I had been using Skype for some sessions so we had clear communications and the introduction of working VoIP is fantastic.

    I game with a regular bunch of guys and we live for the teamwork aspect of it. Calling out "spots" if you can't spot quickly enough, requesting ammo etc is so much easier now

    This VOIP issue & input lag issue for the past 3/4 months (beta included on voip & input lag) has made me realize how low of a priority consoles are for DICE.

    Makes me really want to get a gaming PC now!
