As we all know, I'm a huge lover of BF3 . But, just felt i should make this thread just ranting about less popular/talked about annoying occurances in Battlefield 3. (i.e. i'm avoiding the USAS w/frag rounds topic, etc) - I hate joining into a game (on a map i've chosen) at the end or at the end of a match. 95% of the time i spawn onto the team who lost. Additionally, it counts against your win/loss stats! I don't want a loss when i didn't do anything to contribute to it. If i choose to join a game on a particular map, I wanna play on that map of my choice at the start or at the near start of the match unless i'm joining a game of people on my friends' list. - Someone on the forums raised the point the other day, but i'm going to expand on it further: the spawn system on every smaller map, on every game mode could be better. No one wants to spawn into a game & get shot or knifed from behind as soon as we deploy. -Fall damage from heights is kind of whack in this game. It's all because of the parachutes' execution. I liked the fall damage & parachute system from BF:BC2 & every BF game that had parachutes prior to BF3. -On PS3, i'd say the majority of the time, the B2K servers are pretty laggy. It's been nearly 2 months of this -_- -Also on PS3, Battlefield 3 is the only game that makes my system freeze up. Majority of the time it's on a B2K map -___- -I hear about so many things that freeze the PC version of BF3 up too. Feel free to comment & add more annoying things that are less talked about people. I leave you with some parting questions: How much of what i said do you agree with? Do you think DICE could have made a system that let's you join games that are just starting? Do you think it's possible a better spawn system could have been created? Do you enjoy the execution of fall damage & the rate it takes for your parachute to deploy? How come their are so many glitches that were programmed in that freeze the game? Can you remember another big multiplayer title with problems like that in the past couple of years?
-Agree with you on the fall damage, don't know how many times I've died after falling, I think if the fall can kill you at 50% then you should be able to activate the chute. -Haven't noticed any lag, then again I always go on servers with at least 3 bars. -Yeah, I freezes so often for me, usually on the loading screen
Quite often I'll be at <50% health and I'll just up and die from climbing over a fence or railing. Not even a drop.
-Getting alot of crashing. -Long load times. -Snipers killing me with one shot, and its not even a head shot! -Most of the time the hit detection is good, but sometimes it can get really weird at other times.
for meh when i join any server i always join when the map is ending and always losse oh wut to say i hate that, if i now that my neighbou is working at dice i would beat him for that
- battlelog reporting you lost even though you were on the winning team before the game/server crashes. extremely annoying. the strange part is .. the match report will continue showing you on the winning side. for eg: this - ppl clipping walls while prone.
Wall clipping is my pet gripe, I mean I love shooting a disembodied leg hanging out of a wall for a cheap kill as much as the next guy (ok maybe a LITTLE bit more than the next guy) but I hate being killed by a disembodied head and shoulders that are occupying a position it is humanly impossible for them to be in (unless they can kiss their own arse...no wait... let's not go there). I won't use the world realism as it is a pointless and much derided (rightly so) concept for the escapism of a video game; BUT I do expect to be able to "suspend my disbelief" as I would for a very well written movie, book or in this case video game. Meh just fix the clipping please DICE and I can put up with the rest of the issues (most of the time anyhow). MOOKA!
When you cause 100% damage on an enemy and they are still alive. lol Had that happen to me yesterday when using the 870MCS. Felt cheated out of a kill. Also I really dislike the fact that players can go prone and hide half their torso into the walls of buildings. That really needs to be fixed. In fact, you shouldn't be able to go prone in the first place.
I just thought of some really good ones that annoy me that shouldn't be in the game: - I hate taking damage on Operation Metro, Damavand Peak, & other maps that have random flames in caves or on the ground - it can actually kill you pretty fast! I don't know why they have you taking damage from it especially if you're trying to stand in a spot that gives you an angle on an enemy. - I hate how there are random objects on maps & how your teammates can block your path in battlefield 3 - IT OFTEN GETS YOU KILLED! On tight maps like Operation Metro & Grand Bazaar, you don't want to die because your dumb smurf teammate is blocking your escape path. especially doorways & tunnels that can only fit one person at a time. You should be able to phase through teammates & certain random clutter on maps that obstructs your pathway should be removed!
The one spot that pisses me off is on Sharqi Peninsula by the A MCOM where you get stuck on the ground... at least on xbox you do.
I was Playing Tehran Highway the other day and tried to run in the alcove only to get stuck on the tiny lip between the room and the road. By the time i managed to jump over what any normal person can step over I died.
Nah mate, you can keep the immersion level and achieve the same objective, no magical "phasing (unless its set to stun)" you should be able to push that bastard out of the way (interact key perhaps?). Anything not heavier than an average human being should be able to be hefted. Think of it, if they get working doors in BF4, you could block a doorway to a room with a heavy cabinet across the door; well at least until the C4 goes off! I am all for immersion or the suspension of disbelief, it has to be believable to the point where even though you know its a simulation / game /whatever you can sort of believe it to the point that you play along without any disjunction. Anyway its all getting a bit serious now, just let us push the buggers out of the way and maybe a combo key gives them a kick in the arse for good measure! MOOKA!
Joining a game and being on the opposite team as my party/squad. Having to switch teams to play with them. Then at the beginning of the next game I'm switched to the other team again... unable to switch back to be on their team because I've done it 'too many times' and it thinks I'm a team-switcher.
i think i know what you were trying to say, even though what you wrote is a bit ambiguous at times. but in response, if you can push someone out of the way, they'd be able to do the same to you. my most frequent problem with people getting in my way is showcased by this example: on grand bazaar"s conquest on PS3, my team was going to take the enemy flag B by using the flanking route from flag A. about 9 of us run in & begin taking the flag in the room the flanking route leads to. all of a sudden a couple of enemies spawn across the hallway. I kill one, but miss the 2nd so I try to move to my right to take cover & reload as maybe one of my teammates will continue to suppress and/or kill enemies. But to my surprise, there are 8 people huddled in the pathway that leads to cover so i can't move over or run away & i end up being killed because my pathway is obstructed by people NOT DOING ANYTHING AT ALL! you can't have a pushing feature because, those same people would end up pushing you out into the line of fire when you're trying to reload too often.
