    Editor's Note: In a place where run-of-the-mill BF3 frag videos and movies are all too common, LoASWE's fantastic short machinima "Soulless" shows us a closer, slower look at some of the beautiful moments and scenes that occur every minute in BF3. This video doesn't have insane stunts or crazy killstreaks but it's worth a watch nevertheless. It's slow but if you stick through and watch it all the way to the end (in 1080p HD of course) you'll see exactly what I mean. - @Ennui

    Hi Battlefieldo! I just made a video that shows how beautiful Battlefield 3 is, slowed down.

    In the fast paced action of Battlefield 3, all of us miss either the amazing facial expressions when knifing someone, or the beautiful explosions occuring almost all the time.

    Awesome video. Promoted to frontpage just like I said I would over on the Reddit thread.

    I love this - seeing the fear in the eyes of the recon guys being stabbed slowly fade out into lifelessness is just entrancing. Really shows how we're getting to a point in video gaming where it can be realistic to the point of almost being disturbing.

    So what exactly qualifies this as "awesome"? The severe overuse of slo-mo or the fact he's just knifing people over and over for the entire video? And after about the 3rd one you do wonder if the guy's got some real life stabbing fantasies goin on.

    Sorry, but "awesome" would've required a video with a little more variation than doing the same thing over and over, slo-mo or otherwise.

    The song choice fits the melancholy tone of the video excellently, and the editing is superb. If you want 360noscopewtfchocolatesauce videos, check out SgtEnigma (who is great btw).

    This is a work of art showcasing the amazing design and attention to detail by DICE. You literally see the life leave the characters' eyes, but who ever notices that while playing real-time? Hence the slow-motion and up-close-and-personal knife kills

    I'm with Truth Slayer on this one. The video is ok but it is far from 'awsome'. I get that all the attention to detail is pretty sweet on dices behalf but I have seen slow motion knives too many times before. LoASWE suggests this video emphasises 'beautiful moments' in the game but as Truth Slayer suggest, it is nothing but knifing. It doesn't have to be kill-streak and all that jazz but there are far more 'beautiful moments' in BF3 than knifing unsuspecting nubcakes. I think Truth Slayer just needed to elaborate; it is as though a slow paced 5 star movie would bore the hell out of the viewers of this video but a 6 minute slow-motion knifing video is epic. (I would say "uncultured" but I wouldnt go that far).

    On a side note, I don't know whether you would call this a sort-off soft-core dubstep but it is as though no one has a sense of variety when it comes to music anymore. Dubstep bores the hell out of me. (It is as though people don't realise music existed prior 2011.)

    Though that is all just my opinion, no need to rage over it... though I will gladly read alternative opinions.

    Seems like out of every five people who see this video, 4 of them go "ooh that's cool" and 1 goes "meh".

    It takes a bit of patience to appreciate - it's not a fragmovie or anything like that. What's interesting here is how the video is about the human side of BF3 - seeing the ultra slo-mo as a surprised recon locks gaze with his killer just before getting stabbed in the heart and the life drains from his eyes. Video games usually don't get this profound, and this is interesting primarily because we all experience these moments every day while playing BF3 but rarely notice the eerie (even uncanny) human element at play here since it all happens so fast.

    I just thought it was a nice change of pace from your run of the mill fragmovie - some people may not get it, but that's fine! To each his own. I do agree the slow motion is excessive in some shots (particularly the explosions etc, like in the last minute or so of the video) but overall I was touched on some level by this little video in a way that most BF3 vids don't reach.

    I think it would have been even better had LoASWE chosen to show some slo-mo shots of some of the more spectacular explosions in BF3 (jets crashing or helicopter strafing runs) rather than focusing on slo-mo shots of LAV cannon fire and stuff like that, but either way I thought this was a great video. Your mileage may vary :)

    Hmm, I'm pretty sure I've seen something similar before. But I admit it showed more than just knife kills. This one takes it a bit further though. It shows not just eye and face reaction but hand reaction as well. Look at how the prone sniper tries to reach the knife with his right hand so as to pull it out. It is amazing what DICE have done with this game! Thank you DICE for the attention to detail and thank you LoASWE for showing this to us. :)

    I am completely with you on this, I've been listening to a fantastic Swedish band lately that blend opera and metal and it is just amazing - but the majority of people just want to listen to wub wub :( Still, all the friends I've shown it to have loved it so I'm getting there :D

    SWEET! I didn't realize so many small details until seeing it in slo-mo! I'd like to see more videos like this..maybe with some extreme destruction and rag-dolling bodies :D
